Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki, “Gilmore Girls”) deu o melhor de si para escapar da assustadora historia de sua famí­lia. 	Heroes começa de uma forma simples: à medida que um eclipse cobre com sua sombra todo o globo terrestre, pessoas de diferentes partes do mundo descobrem que possuem poderes especiais. A relação entre elas é um cientista indiano que defende a tese de que um próximo passo na evolução humana já está sendo dado, com o surgimento espontâneo de seres com habilidades especiais. Ele é assassinado em Nova Iorque investigando este fato, e o seriado se inicia com seu filho, um professor de genética (Sendhil Ramamurthy) sendo avisado de sua morte e tentando descobrir o que aconteceu com o pai, que sempre dizia estar sendo perseguido. Esse grupo de amigos, familiares, inimigos e estranhos terão que trabalhar juntos contra o cruel tempo e o terrível local, caso eles queriam continuar vivos. Mas a ilha guarda muitos segredos, incluindo os intensos uivos das criaturas escondidas na floresta, que irá aumentar ainda mais o medo dos sobreviventes.
